Here are several factors which can cause your
processing pricing to fluxuate:

account;

Type of merchandise being sold;

How long have you been in business? If
you have prior processing history you may be able to get a lower rate;

Where are you geographically located?
Rates for domestic accounts and offshore accounts can be vastly
different;

Are you in need or desire a direct
account with an acquiring bank or are you open to using 3rd party
processing.
As a general guideline you can also expect the
following:

For a direct domestic merchant account you
can expect a discount rate in the low 2% to low 4% (transaction fees and gate fees
are separate).

For a direct offshore (non US) merchant account you can
expect a discount rate in the mid 3% to low 6% range (transaction fees and gate fees
are separate).

For a 3rd party processing rates are even more spread
out. If you would like a low risk general commerce account it can be 2-5%.

For High Risk
processing these fees can range from 6.9-13.5% although for 3rd
party they are typically inclusive of transaction, gateway and other processing
fees that come with direct accounts.
